We have long dreamed of having our own full sized Astroturf pitch with floodlights. The new pitch, on the Farrer Field, will be ready in the autumn of 2023.

Manwood’s has had a long term goal of building a full sized Astroturf facility on the Farrer Field. The new sports facility will cost £1.1m and the pitch is being built over the summer and autumn of 2023. Most of the money has come from The Future Fund, however parents and local businesses have donated £20,000 through events like our sponsored walk. Thank you for your enormous generosity!

Astroturf

The Astroturf will be a full sized county standard floodlit hockey pitch which will allow us to play home hockey matches at Manwood’s for the first time in many years. However, it is being built as a multi sport facility that will be available for public hire – not just for hockey, but also for football and tennis.

Car Park

We are extending the car park on the Home Field to add 20 new spaces. This will allow visitors who want to use the Astroturf to have access to proper off street parking. Electric Vehicle chargers will be installed and will be available for public use
