Information for University and College admissions teams
Due to Coronavirus, Manwood’s was closed to all but children of key workers from Friday 20th March - Monday 31st August.
During this time, resources were provided and work was set and marked remotely on Google Classroom to minimise the impact on students’ learning. Whilst teaching could not be delivered in its usual format, a small number of lessons also took place via Google Meet.
The majority of our students adapted well to these circumstances. Although their knowledge developed as expected it is unlikely that their progress with respect to application of this knowledge will have been completely unaffected by the loss of contact time.
The exception to the school closure was that Year 12 all attended a UCAS Information Morning in school to assist with their preparations for further education.
Predicted grades would normally be significantly guided by internal exams taken towards the end of Year 12. The exams were postponed this year until early September and whilst the
circumstances leading up to the exams were different teachers were still able to use the information to support their judgement of a student’s ability in exam conditions.
