Consultation on Admission Arrangements for Sir Roger Manwood’s School for 2020-21
Consultation on Admission Arrangements
The Governing Body of Sir Roger Manwood’s School wishes to consult on proposed changes to the school’s admission arrangements for the 2020-21 academic year. The consultation will take place for six weeks from Monday 5 November to Monday 17 December 2018 inclusive.
The following changes are being proposed (and are highlighted in red text in the attached copy of the draft Admissions Arrangements for 2020-21).:
1 Children previously in care outside of England
In December 2017 the Minister for School Standards requested that all Admission Authorities vary their admission arrangements to include priority for children that were adopted from outside of England. A new criterion has been added to our over-subscription criteria to accommodate this guidance, together with a definition of how this status will be assessed. This wording has been suggested by KCC and is the one that they are consulting on introducing to the admissions criteria for all maintained schools.
2 Entry requirements for Sixth Form admission
An entry requirement for Economics has been added to the current criteria, plus the grade requirements for overseas applicants changed to reflect the fact that iGCSEs are now awarded on a 1 to 9 scale.
If you would like to comment on the proposed amendments then please do so either by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to The Chair of Governors, Sir Roger Manwood’s School, Manwood Road, Sandwich, Kent CT13 9JX. All comments received by the end of Monday 17 December will be considered by the Governing Body at a meeting that is scheduled to take place in early January 2019.
